Players born in 2010-2013 and before (U12-U14) will not begin games until after Labor Day (Monday, August 7) These teams will not hear from a team coach until September 1 possibly as they will NOT play in jamboree August 26 as we focus on getting the youngest age groups started first. The U12-U14 age groups play against other organizations, which do not start until after Labor Day. All U4-U10 age groups play just between other teams within our club.

Practice Days and Times:

Practice times for ALL ages are determined by individual coaches AFTER teams’ form. Teams may or may not choose to practice before opening jamboree. Most teams do not practice before the first day but meet a few minutes early on opening day to receive uniforms and meet their coach and teammates. Younger teams (U4-U6) may also opt to not practice during the week, and just meet early on game day to have a quick practice session prior to the game.

Player equipment needed:
All players should have a ball, shin guards and appropriate foot wear (soccer cleats).  All players to JFC this will be provided two jerseys, black shorts and socks. The shorts DO run big, so families may want a backup pair for black shorts to wear as well. These will be handed out to coaches before opening jamboree to distribute to their teams.

Players born in 2017-2020 (U4-U7) should have a size 3 soccer ball. Players born in 2014-2016 (U8, U9, U10, U11 and U12) should have a size 4 soccer ball, and players born in 210-2011 (U13-U14) should have a size 5 soccer ball. These can be purchased at any local sporting goods store.

Coaching:
Every team needs a parent(s) to volunteer to coach. There are plenty of coaching activities on our website as well to guide you. We also have current coaches who can help you learn. There are plenty of opportunities to gain experience and learn coaching activities along with your child. We also offer a FREE app which will help guide you as well. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!

If you are new to the program and are interested in coaching, assistant coaching, managing, being an age group coordinator or volunteering in any way, simply sign up during the registration process. Someone will be in touch with you by as registration comes to an end.  If you did not sign up during the registration process, please email us and we will add you to the coaching/volunteer master list. All coaches and volunteers must undergo a background check. JFC pays all costs associated with this process. Information on how to do the background check will be on the confirmation email you are sent when you register your player. Please make sure to take care of this ASAP.

Player Contact:
Registration closes completely on August 10, 2023. All players born in the 2014-2020 age groups should hear from a coach by Monday August 21, 2023, if not before. Do not be alarmed if your child is not contacted immediately after registration closes as some groups will hear from coaches before others. As our volunteer age group coordinators get information together on teams, they will pass along to coaches. Coaches are volunteers and some coaches do take longer to contact teams than others. However, all players should be contacted by a coach by August 21 at 6:00pm. If you are not contacted by a coach by that time, please email us at [email protected] after 6:00pm.

Please remember that teams cannot be formed without parent volunteers, so if you didn't sign up to coach during registration, please consider doing so, no experience needed

All players born in 2010-2013 (Under 12-Under 14) will not be contacted until after opening jamboree since they will not start play until after Labor Day. These players should expect to hear from a coach by September 1.

JFC Work Party:
Please also mark your calendars for Saturday, August 19. JFC will be having a work party. This will begin at approximately 8:00am and is the day we need LOTS of volunteers to help get the fields ready for play after the summer break. If you have never lined a field, there will be plenty of people to help you learn!

Not good at lining fields ? (all it takes is the ability to walk a straight line since you will be under the direction of others).  There will be plenty of things that can be done other than lining fields. It is also a great source of community service hours for any students who may need them. Please pass this along to everyone you know and help us get geared up for the Fall soccer season!

Team formation disclaimer:
On older teams (2010-2013), because of team size limitations, JFC cannot guarantee the player a spot on a team if the team is already full of  the maximum capacity of players. JFC complies with all applicable rules of the Mississippi Soccer Association regarding the registration and rostering of players.  However, if you register before August 10, there should not be any problems placing your child on a team in these age groups. If denied you will receive a full monetary refund and referral to another club to play.

Please be aware in some seasons, we do have to form Coed teams in the U12 and U14 age groups due to low numbers. But when scheduling games against other clubs, we try to have an equal balance of games against girls and boys teams. But our hope is to always form all girls and all boys teams,  but will not be sure of this capability until after registration closes. In the U4-U10 age groups, teams are ALWAYS formed by gender and no coed teams are formed.

Payment:
If you are mailing a check, you may mail your payment to. Please ensure payment reaches us by August 10, 2023 (close of late registration).
