Opening and closing jamborees:
Our Division 3 recreational teams in the 2011-2016 (U4-U10) birth years will begin games on Saturday, August 24, 2019 and closing jamboree will be Saturday, October 5, 2019. Players born in 2006-2009(U12-U14) will begin play after Labor Day and continue until Mid-November.

Game days for the season:
Regular Game Days for U4-U10: Most games during the Fall season for 2010-2016(U4-U10) birth years will be played on weeknights. This changed during the spring when games are played on Saturday morning.

Opening jamboree will be on Saturday, August 24 for all U4-U10 boys and girls. Each team will play 2 games this day. Closing jamboree will be Saturday, October 5. Each team will play two games that day.

During the regular season these are the days that teams will play:

Monday nights - 2016 boys and girls (Under 4), 2015 boys and girls (Under 5) and 2012 boys and girls (Under 8) will play every Monday with the exception of Labor Day, when games will be on Thursday.

Tuesday nights - 2014 boys and girls (Under 6), 2013  girls (Under 7) and 2010-2011 (under 9-Under 10) Girls.

Thursday nights - 2010-2011 (under 9-Under 10) Boys and 2013 boys (Under 7). Under 7 boys will not play on Tuesdays as the girls because of flag football having games on Tuesday night as well.

Regular Game Days for Under 12 Girls (2008-2009)- This group will have games on some Mondays and some Saturdays. These games are played against teams from  Madison and surrounding areas, so teams will have to play some Saturdays. These games will not start until after Labor Day. They DO NOT play opening jamboree day. All teams should expect 8-10 games.

Regular Game Days for Under 12 Boys (2008-2009) and Under 14 Boys (2006-2007) This group will have games on some Thursdays and some Saturdays. These games are played against teams from  Madison and surrounding areas, so game days will vary. These games will not start until after Labor Day. All teams should expect 8-10 games.

Regular practice days:
Practice times for ALL ages are determined by individual volunteer coaches. But teams should expect one practice day during the week in addition to their game day. Younger teams (U4-U6) may opt to not practice during the week, and just meet early on game day to have a quick practice session prior to the game.

Player equipment needed:
All players should have a ball, shin guards and appropriate foot wear (soccer cleats). Every player will be provided two jerseys, one pair of black shorts and one pair of black socks.

These will be delivered to coaches a few days before opening jamboree, so players may not receive the uniforms until the first game on Saturday, August 24. Players born in 2012-2016 (Under 4-Under 8) should have a size 3 soccer ball. Players born in 2008-2011 (Under 9-Under 12) should have a size 4 soccer ball, and players born in 2006-2007 (under 13-Under 14) should have a size 5 soccer ball. These can be purchased at any local sporting goods stores.

Player Contact:
Early registration will close on July 31, 2019.  Late registration will run August 1-7, 2019 with a $25 late fee. After that point, ALL players will be wait-listed.

All players born in the 2011-2016 (Under 4-Under 10) age groups should hear from a coach by August 18th at 6:00pm if not before. Don't be alarmed if your child isn't contacted immediately after registration closes as some groups will hear from coaches before others. Coaches are volunteers and some coaches do take longer to contact teams then others. However, all players should be contacted by a coach by Sunday, August 18 at 6:00pm. If you are not contacted by a coach by that time,  please email us at [email protected] after 6:00pm. Please remember that teams cannot be formed without parent volunteers, so if you didn't sign up to coach during registration, please consider doing so, no experience needed!

All players born in 2006-2009 (Under 12-Under 14) will be contacted by Tuesday, August 27th if not before and will not start play until August 24, but will start AFTER Labor day in September. They will not play in opening jamboree August 24.  Please email us if you have not be contacted by 6:00pm on Tuesday, August 27.

Coaching:
Every team needs a parent(s) to volunteer to coach. We have a weekly email sent out to all volunteer coaches with practice plans for the week. There are plenty of coaching activities on our website as well to guide you. We also have current coaches who will help you learn. There are plenty of opportunities to gain experience and learn coaching activities along with your child. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!

If you are new to the program and are interested in coaching, assistant coaching, managing, being an age group coordinator or volunteering in anyway please contact us by email at [email protected] Or simply sign up during the registration process. Someone will be in touch with you by as registration comes to a close.  If you did not sign up during the registration process, please email us and we will add you to the coaching/volunteer master list. All coaches and volunteers must undergo a background check. JFC pays all costs associated with this process. The form only takes 5 minutes to complete.

JFC Work Party:
Please also mark your calendars for Saturday, August 17 beginning at 8:00am. JFC will be having work party. This is the day we need lots of volunteers to help get the fields ready for play after the summer break. If you've never lined a field, there will be plenty of people to help you learn! Not good at lining? There will be plenty of things that can be done other then lining fields. It is also a great source of community service hours for any students who may need them. Please pass this along to everyone you know and help us get geared up for the fall soccer season!

Team formation disclaimer:
On older teams (2006-2007), because of team size limitations, JFC cannot guarantee the player a spot on a team if the team is already full with maximum capacity of players. JFC complies with all applicable rules of the Mississippi Soccer Association regarding the registration and rostering of players.  However, if you register before July 31, there shouldn't be any problems placing your child on a team in these age groups. If denied you will receive a full monetary refund.
