Opening and closing jamborees:
Our Division 3 recreational teams in the 2009-2015 (U4-U10) birth years will begin games on Saturday, February 2, 2019 and closing jamboree will be Saturday, March 23, 2019. Players born in 2005-2007 (U12-U14) will begin play around February 16 and continue play until the end of April.

Game days for the season:
Regular Game Days for U4-U10: All games during the spring season for 2009-2015 (U4-U10) birth years will be played on Saturday mornings. During the first few weeks, age groups affected by Upward basketball will be played late mornings and early afternoons to accommodate those players playing both sports and coaches who coach both sports.

The week preceding spring break (March 4-8) games will be played during the week. All Under 4 (2015), All Under 5 (2014) and All Under 8 (2011) will be on Monday. All Under 6 (2013) , All Under 7 (2012) and Under 10 Girls (2009-2010) will be on Tuesday. All Under 10 Boys (2009-2010) will be on Thursday. There will be no games on Spring break weekends, March 9 or March 16. All teams should expect 8-10 games.

Regular Game Days for Under 12 Girls (2007-2008)- This group will have games on some Mondays and some Saturdays. These games are played against teams from  Madison and surrounding areas, so teams will have to play some Saturdays. These games will not start until February 16. They do not play opening jamboree day. All teams should expect 8-10 games.

Regular Game Days for Under 12 Boys (2007-2008) and Under 14 Boys (2005-2006) This group will have games on some Thursdays and some Saturdays. These games are played against teams from  Madison and surrounding areas, so game days will vary. These games will not start until February 16. All teams should expect 8-10 games.

Regular practice days:
Practice times for ALL ages are determined by individual volunteer coaches. But teams should expect one practice day during the week in addition to their game day. Younger teams (U4-U6) may opt to not practice during the week, and just meet early on game day to have a quick practice session prior to the game.

Player equipment needed:
All players should have a ball, shin guards and appropriate foot wear (soccer cleats). Every NEW player will be provided two jerseys, one pair of black shorts and one pair of black socks. Returning players from the fall will use their existing uniforms. If you should need a new set and are a returning player, please email us at [email protected] and we will order you a new set.

These will be delivered to coaches a few days before opening jamboree, so players may not receive the uniforms until the first game on February 2. Players born in 2011-2015 (Under 4-Under 8) should have a size 3 soccer ball. Players born in 2007-2010 (Under 9-Under 12) should have a size 4 soccer ball, and players born in 2005-2006 (under 13-Under 19) should have a size 5 soccer ball. These can be purchased at any local sporting goods stores.

Player Contact:
Early registration will close on December 31, 2018.  Late registration will run January 1-10, 2019 with a $25 late fee. After that point, ALL players will be wait-listed.

All players born in the 2010-2015 (Under 4-Under 10) age groups should hear from a coach by January 23 at 6:00pm if not before. Don't be alarmed if your child isn't contacted immediately after registration closes as some groups will hear from coaches before others. Coaches are volunteers and some coaches do take longer to contact teams then others. However, all players should be contacted by a coach by Wednesday, January 23 at 6:00pm. If you are not contacted by a coach by that time,  please email us at [email protected] after 6:00pm. Please remember that teams cannot be formed without parent volunteers, so if you didn't sign up to coach during registration, please consider doing so, no experience needed!

All players born in 2005-2008 (Under 12-Under 14) will be contacted by Tuesday, February 5 if not before and will not start play until February 16. They will not play in opening jamboree February 2.  Please email us if you have not be contacted by 6:00pm on Tuesday, February 5.

Coaching:
Every team needs a parent(s) to volunteer to coach. We have a weekly email sent out to all volunteer coaches with practice plans for the week. There are plenty of coaching activities on our website as well to guide you. We also have current coaches who will help you learn. There are plenty of opportunities to gain experience and learn coaching activities along with your child. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!

If you are new to the program and are interested in coaching, assistant coaching, managing, being an age group coordinator or volunteering in anyway please contact us by email at [email protected] Or simply sign up during the registration process. Someone will be in touch with you by as registration comes to a close.  If you did not sign up during the registration process, please email us and we will add you to the coaching/volunteer master list. All coaches and volunteers must undergo a background check. JFC pays all costs associated with this process. The form only takes 5 minutes to complete.

JFC Work Party:
Please also mark your calendars for Saturday, January 26 beginning at 8:00am. JFC will be having work party. This is the day we need lots of volunteers to help get the fields ready for play after the summer break. If you've never lined a field, there will be plenty of people to help you learn! Not good at lining? There will be plenty of things that can be done other then lining fields. It is also a great source of community service hours for any students who may need them. Please pass this along to everyone you know and help us get geared up for the fall soccer season!

Team formation disclaimer:
On older teams (2005-2006), because of team size limitations, JFC cannot guarantee the player a spot on a team if the team is already full with maximum capacity of players. JFC complies with all applicable rules of the Mississippi Soccer Association regarding the registration and rostering of players.  However, if you register before December 31, there shouldn't be any problems placing your child on a team in these age groups. If denied you will receive a full monetary refund.
